How can I get more website traffic?
I run an Entertainment website (not going to publish the URL because that would be spam, but you can contact me if interested). Currently, I am getting 200-700 users daily but I want more.
I hate link exchange programs, banner exchanges, etc. They all do no good. People just click on my site to up their own credits, spend 5 seconds on my site, and then never come back. To me, those programs are a waste of time. Other webmasters will know what I mean.
Where can I find a cheap/free place to advertise w/o any strings attached? Or where can I find a QUALITY link exchange program? All the ones I’ve tried have been crap.
Remember the guy on TV that made thousands just by placeing a little add from his 1 bedroom apartment? try the same thing with your site. 1 little add in a big city will do it

You have to have site that is popular in order to get hits. Take myspace for example it very popular among kids thus the word of mouth advertisement is used. This I think is the best way to increase traffic.
The second best option is to go around and post your website into all the search engine databases you can find. Also you might want to try Googles adsense program which can get you some money also. Most big search engines like Yahoo! or Google will let you also put a ad on their results page.
Linking with othersites is really not that great. If you are using that as your main source of getting people to come I don’t see how you got 200 700 daily comming.
