How do I go about increasing web site traffic to my blog?
Hey everyone,
As the title says: how do I go about increasing web site traffic to my blog? I’ve got a blog that I’ve been working on for ages and I can’t seem to get any free traffic to it 
I’ve heard about paying for advertising on google, but I can’t afford that… what can I do?
You have to write useful content.
You have to use social networking sites like Yahoo buzz, Digg, Facebook, twitter.
You have to find similar blog to yours and participate in comments over there.
Don’t just think for success very early, it takes time. First put your attention in writing content then think of earning.

Try putting your blog on digg.com blogger etc join Forms that your website is about make sure when you join these Forms you know what your talking about put your Link is the Signature tab don’t just spam the forum’s that will lightly get you removed. Come to my website i have have backlinks tab there.
Also arrr email some company that your website has to do with and ask for a backlink and you;ll link to there website.

buying traffic is the easiest way to go but since you do not have the cash you have to use search engine optimization. This is basically modifying a site to make it rank better in search engine result pages. There are numerous things to do like adding tags, meta descriptions, title tags, relevant keywords etc There is a SEO guide by seomoz that talks in detail on how a beginner can get started in this. Just google SEO guide by seomoz and download it from their site
Also submit you blog to blog directories and rss directories because of the all important backlinks to your site. Keep adding fresh content to your site on a regular basis. It will take quite some time to get the free traffic but the good thing is that it will be good quality and very well targeted. Also comments to blogs in the niche you blog in- traffic from this starts coming within a relatively short time but the thing is that it is highly bouncing and not that good quality

half of the top 10 websites are search engines so don’t forget to submit your website to major search engines. use their webmaster’s tools to direct them to crawl/index your website’s pages much faster. then create links to your site thru social networking websites, blog/forum sites or even from q&a sites like yahoo answers.

If you aren’t already doing so you announce your new blog entries on your social networking profiles. Also send out and email to your friends, family and other contacts when you post a new article.
