How do I verify website traffic?
I’m interested in buying a website. I’d like to know how much traffic it’s receiving. How can I do that? It only has an Alexa rank of arounf 4.8 million, and Quatcast has no information.
Unfortunately, unless the website has an actual traffic counter on its opening webpage, it’s nearly impossible to determine the volume of net traffic. Again, there is a major difference between the value of a website according to its PR [Page Rank] at google.com in which case you would have to submit a "generic" keyword query [not its domain name or brand] in order to determine a website’s visibility on major search engines. As to which is more valuable, the actual traffic to a website or the website’s visibility on major search engines, I’d go with the search engine ranking which is a constant value and is easily verifiable. I’d also pass on any Alexa valuation since it’s not really related to Google.com’s search engine which is at present, a far higher rated source of ecommerce activity.
Good luck!

Well you must see something really special in this website. But if not even Alexa has traffic stats for the website that means the website is recieving very very little to no traffic at all. You can try http://www.TrafficEstimate.com – If the website has a stats counter link somewhere in the bottom you can check that.
But it’s all about what you can do with the website. If you think you can buy and fix it up and make some money go for it
