I have a store on Bonanza.com – it’s free until I sell something and then obviously they take a cut. The up side is that the site charges less money for fees and listing than Fee-Bay. But the very big downside is that they do little or no advertising. So I am not sure how to increase traffic. I’ve advertised a little on Craigslist but that is complicated. I made a URL on Godaddy for the page. I’ve advertised on Twitter. I am just uncertain because it’s not exactly a website. Any help would be appreciated. Some of the ideas given are helpful.However, I can’t change the meta tags for my store because it is part of Bonaza.com. There are some things that I could do to a personal website that I can’t do with my E-store. If someone could help me sort those differences out it would be great.

I looked at your website. Have you done any product research. Like how many people search for your product a month. The guy above listed some good seo tips but to be honest the top of google thing will not work for you. You have to have your own domain. Lucky for you though I,m giving out a free ebook that explains craigslist. Craigslist can work for you but your products look a little high priced and they may not be hot ticket items. gdiateam.com

I’d put it down the side of the page or next to the things that people visit the site to see. The top of the page can’t be missed so that’s a good space to put it too. Try to avoid putting things towards the bottom of the page, because most of the time people would never see it cos they’re too idol to scroll down.

1. You can submit your website to search engines. By little research on google you will find few free websites and some low paid but really good once. (3-4 weeks)

2. You can submit articles. If you are good at writing articles, write and submit yourself if not, then you can pay someone to do it for you, they are inexpensive. (3-4 weeks)

3. You can submit your website i directories and social networks. Some of social networking sites are: Facebook, Tweeter, Youtube, Myspace & Daceband.

4. For fast traffic i would recommend Daceband. You will see the results of fast traffic in short time. Some of the low priced advertising source is daceband.com
They offer 10,000 unique visitors for $ 10. If you get that, there is high chance that at least 200 people will be interested on your website since daceband is social networking website. It will boost your alexa rank and you will start seeing your website at compete.com

While Google Adwards you will get about 10 visitors for $ 10. Google Adwards statistic is that only 2 percent will stay on your website. So of an average click cost of $ 1, you have to spend $ 100 to get 2 continued visitors to your website. I’ve got a website which is involved in selling properties in the south of france. I’m trying to improve my google ranking i.e getting higher to the top of keyword searches and getting my ad up the top in the pale yellow section.

I’d read that advertising at the top of google can cost up to $ 10,000 pcm – is this true or is there another way I can do this more cheaply?

Any tips on how to improve my ranking/popularity are welcome. Or any other ideas.

A few things:

Try to see your site as the search engine sees it. Here’s a simulator: http://www.webconfs.com/search-engine-spider-simulator.php
Realize that the search engine does not see any of your photos so there has to be text on the site.
In the text you need to use the words that people are likely to search for without making it seem artificial.

Make sure your site is indexed in google,yahoo and msn live search. If needed you will need to submit the site to them. For google you can do that at:

http://www.google.com/addurl/

Write alt tags for all the pictures in your pages.

Make sure you use H1, H2, H3 etc tags in order to structure your information.

Google search engine optimization and read about it. There’s lots to learn.

An inexpensive way of advertising your site is to get google adds or advertise on facebook. You can make it fit your budget.

And last, but not least, W3 validate your code. It makes search engines and users happier. You can do that at http://validator.w3.org/

Good question.

Well I want to first start with telling you what to avoid. Always good to know it.

4 Traffic Strategies To Avoid

Here I’m going to reveal the Traffic Strategies To Avoid.

Why? Because the only thing you will get out of it is failure.

The first one to avoid:

Buying Traffic. Please never spend a dime into this. How often have you seen an advertising similar to this? “Get 100.000 Targeted Visitors To Your Website For $ 199.99.

This is what is called dead traffic. Those companies look for domain or website that is already down and still getting traffic. They locate them to your website but those visitors don’t have a clue why they ended up on your website and the only thing they want is to go away.

Don’t throw away your money.

The second one to avoid:

Traffic Exchanges. If you haven’t heard about this yet I will inform you. How it works? You sign in and you click through similar pages you are promoting. But the reason people click through is only to get more traffic to their own website and don’t care about other websites. Then they start to complain it dose not work. It’s because everyone else is thinking exactly the same thing.

Keep away from it. This will destroy your business!

The third one to avoid:

Safelists. Don’t even think about joining them and if you already have just get out of it now! Don’t spend your time on this.

The fourth one to avoid:

Banner ads…to start. If you don’t know what you are doing them don’t spend your time on it. Banners with rotating text and jumping monkeys to get your attention it’s just plain turn off!

Now you know what traffic strategies to avoid. This is just plain dangerous to your business and your time and money is not worth the effort.
