Well, it takes a lot of time! If you do find a quick method that works fine but in the mean time try:
* Make your friends come to your site and let them make their friends notice your site. Word of Mouth.
* I get a lot of traffic from facebook. Share your posts on your facebook status/profile.
* Combine your blog with twitter and follow/be followed by tweeters that are relevant. They will see when you have posted something new and catch up.
* Befriend other bloggers, for instance. Find bloggers whose topics interest you and/or whose topics are similar to yours. Comment on them. Make an effort to comment,though. Not just: Nice review, come check out my post on….” I just had one of those comments today.
* Submit to blogcatalog.com to get to know more bloggers.

The list is endless but these are the best and free methods I have found so far.
