I’ve done a lot of research, and I know all about META tags and SEO. That’s taken care of. And I don’t have all kinds of money to be tossing away on AdWords. Also, I’ve checked out traffic exchanges and while yes, they do work, you need to either a) have money to buy traffic or b) spend hours cycling through random sites to credits. I don’t mind surfing… I just don’t have the time to sit around.. I do have a full-time job outside of blogging.

Yes, it will help. This is called link-baiting. You create a resource guide about your topic in the hopes that other will link to it.

You could put it directly on your site, though…no need to build a second website.

You could even do yoursite.com/blog and publish the help guides and videos there.

I chose a catchy title, put together some interesting products, added tags, keywords, and descriptions for my products for search engine optimization. I also sent a few emails to friends. I also added a script that tracks user behavior on my site.

You can write articles about your products and submit them to hubpages, ezine articles, and squidoo lens. You could also try pay per click from google, yahoo, and miva till you start getting regular customers then branch out to other means of traffic sources like pyrabang. Press releases are also another good source for building traffic to your site. Social bookmarking is good for getting targeted traffic to your site for that I use onlywire. It allows you to submit to bookmarking sites like twitter,stubleupon, reddit, and dig. All of which can get you good amounts of traffic. You also need to make sure to get your products and pages indexed with google and yahoo. I can tell you thousands of ways to get traffic to your site. Most of my ideas are posted in my seo section on my main blog at massivemarketers. I only posted the one main page because you can find almost evertying from there. Hello Joseph C – you want as many people as you can coming to your store. Do you have a blog? Are you on FaceBook, Linkedin or Plaxo? Do you have a Twitter account? These are all ways to get the word out about your store and attaching a link so people can easily come to your store. Also post to the Free Ads sites, go to forums and discuss with others about being noticed – don’t ever try to ‘sell’ to anyone as that is considered spamming. You want to brand yourself, then your product and people will get to know you and will want to see what you have to offer. Hope that makes sense and gives you ideas of what you can do to drive traffic. A free or at least cheap way to get your site out there is by submitting your site to some “Top 100 ” sites that may have the type of things that you are selling. You usually have to put a reciprocal link on your site in return.

Also, try to get it crawled by as many search engines as you can. Good keywords and Meta tags are key here…

That could work but that’s the easy way, and hence is not necessarily the best way. My tips:

- Search engine optimization, takes time and effort but if successful can be extremely rewarding.
- online fliers and catalogs, send to your friends and any one who might like it.
- build a mailing list and send newsletters
- have a cheap but good brochure or flier to get people to know
- start a facebook page for your site. get your friends to become fans.

The idea here is good avertising and spreading the word through word of mouth.
