How to improve my website traffic?
I have a website thats a little over a month old. At first the traffic was steadily increasing. Now I’m hardly getting any hits at all. I’ve tried submitting articles, sighned up to directories and search engines, put videos on youtube and have participated in places such as blogcatalog. Those that have seen my site and blog really liked it yet still I’m hardly getting any traffic? What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it ?
Wow! You’ve been busy!
You are definitely on the right track. Submitting articles, signing up for key directories and search engines, posting videos on YouTube and participating in blogging and social media are all great activities for increasing your traffic.
First of all, it’s important to understand that these strategies take some time. What you’re doing is building inbound links, which work because, when search engines find all these links to your site, they figure you must be important and rank you higher than other sites. When you think of it that way, it’s obvious that there’s going to be lag time between your link-building activities and the accompanying increase in traffic.
You should keep all this up and trust the process. Meanwhile, take a look at your content and make sure people won’t be disappointed by what they find. No amount of link building will save a site that is scattered, disorganized or hard to use.
Last, but not least, keep an eye on your web traffic. Oftentimes, you can mine your site stats to figure out what’s working and what isn’t. That should help you refine your strategy going forward.
Keep up the good work, and good luck!
How can I get better web traffic to my site?
I have a lingerie site. Been in business for about 6 years, www.mkalingerie.com, but now I’m on the internet. How can I get traffic so that I can get more customers and hits everyday. Please help I would appreciate it.
"If you build it, they will come" is not necessarily true on the Web. Putting a website up is one thing, but getting visitors to come to your site is another. The process becomes even more difficult if you have limited resources to market your business.
Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:
1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement – if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.
2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important — and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

What Is The Cheapest Way To Get Website Traffic?
What is the cheapest way to get website traffic through a search engine and how much traffic do you think il get on the cheapest way. Also i really need publicity for my forum http://www.review-writers.niceboard.com so could people post links to it or something i would be really apreciative and if someone would get my forum advertised well for free i would definatly choose best answer.
Please Help!
The best way to get traffic to your site for free? There’s no secret. The best way is to provide a site that people actually want to visit, and come back to. Do this, and your site will grow by itself, given time. Also make sure to submit your site to search engines, tell real people about your site, etc. Word of mouth is pretty much the best free way to get a popular site. If you want to look into advertising, or getting sponsored links in a search engine or whatever, then feel free. But advertising a site is a waste of many if no one is going to want to visit it. And, the last thing people want, is for some guy to start pimping his site out all over the internet at any chance he gets, especially if it’s not related to the context of the place you’re posting it in. If you NEED to do that to get visitors, your site isn’t worth visiting.
That’s the best answer you’re going to get I’m afraid. Even if there was some magic trick to getting a popular website, it’d be pretty pointless because EVERYONE would do that and it would achieve nothing.
What is better to get traffic to your website….?
Writing articles and posting them at article sites to get a good one way link or writing articles and posting them on your website to add more content. Which will bring more website traffic and have the search engines rate you higher?
This site has some good information on your question:

Articles are THE Method for Promoting a New Website
So you launched that new website. It is getting visitors, but nothing like you’d had hoped. There must be a way, but you don’t want to spends hundreds of dollars on backlinks, so you have to settle on those link directories. Or do you?
The thing is, there is a great free method that all it takes is time, and the result can be absolutely fantastic. Writing articles.
Writing articles … so you may be wondering just what that entails. How do you take advantage of this great method, and how can the greatest marketing secret go so underused by many.
Well, you just simply write an article of more than 500 words (this is easier than it appears, you’re an expert afterall!). Then, write up a resource paragraph. This is your way to make yourself shine. Put a backlink, hype your site, whatever works. This is included along with the article so you get credit and a free valuable on-topic (you wrote the page’s topic too) backlink to you.
So, you might wonder why, exactly, would someone put your article on their website. CONTENT. That’s right, content is still major on the internet. People build websites and they either have to write content themselves, or they can pick up incredible articles like yours from article directories. This is why so many articles are picked up from the article directories. As part of the deal, the webmasters must leave all links intact and working just like the authors set them up. This means as your article spreads, it gets you more backlinks, more relevant, and your website becomes more authoritative on the internet.
Pretty cool, huh?
So, what are all the benefits and details of me taking a few minutes to impart my valuable information on the world?
Writing articles is one of the best-working methods of getting a site’s presence known. Search engines find the backlinks in your resource box of articles and can find your site easily. People read what you have to write and visit your site to find out more. Sometimes articles even get picked up in newsletters or ezines, giving even more coverage.
Your article should have something to say, or a point to make. Remember, you should be giving your reader good information they want, not a press release and don’t self-promote. If you write well on your topic and give good information, you only stand to gain.
There are 3 big things you get from writing articles, which are to mark you as an expert, giving you quality backlinks, and the traffic you get from people reading the articles are already interested in your topic, making them extremely targeted.
EXPERT
You mark yourself as an expert when you write articles. You are giving out free information of use to readers. Readers in general will find all of the articles you have written and come to see you as an expert due to your vast knowledge in your topic.
You get high-quality backlinks to your website from the resource box of wherever your articles are on the internet. Search engines will see this and you are getting great on-topic backlinks that are now and will always be great for your link popularity.
HIGHLY-TARGETED TRAFFIC
The readers that are reading your articles are already interested in the topic and are trying to find out even more information. This means you have a highly-targeted audience right from the beginning and it is likely many readers will follow the link to your website to find out more.
Writing articles is one of the best ways to market your website there is. You get to share information with your potential visitors, and in the process get great backlinks which are always a huge part of increase your position in the search engines. You can in fact write your own success story, literally. The price … FREE.
